Electrostatic Air Filters for Commercial Kitchens

Grilling and frying generate smoke, grease and odour that standard ventilation alone can’t fully manage. Electrostatic air filters, also known as electrostatic precipitators (ESPs), are designed specifically for commercial kitchen extraction systems to capture these contaminants before they reach your ductwork or the surrounding environment.

At Ace Ventilation, we supply and install quality electrostatic air filters suited to a wide range of commercial kitchen applications.

How Electrostatic Filtration Works

The process is straightforward. Contaminated air passes through a diffuser and pre-filter, removing larger particles first. The remaining smoke and grease particles are then ionised, giving them an electrostatic charge. This charge causes the particles to be attracted to and trapped on collector plates, leaving clean air to continue through the system.

The collector plates are cleanable rather than disposable, which keeps ongoing maintenance costs low and reduces waste sent to landfill.

Why Use an Electrostatic Air Filter?

ESPs offer practical benefits that go beyond basic air quality improvement:

  • Reduces fire risk by removing flammable grease deposits from your ventilation system
  • Lowers cleaning frequency and cost for ductwork
  • Improves ambient air quality for kitchen staff
  • Eliminates odour complaints from neighbouring businesses or residents
  • Supports compliance with local council requirements, pollution control regulations, and health and safety obligations
  • Contributes to heating and cooling cost savings through consistent, unrestricted airflow
  • Filtration components are reusable, minimising maintenance and ongoing consumable costs

Built for Consistent Performance

Electrostatic precipitators are designed for reliable, low-maintenance operation in demanding commercial kitchen environments. With proper cleaning, the system maintains consistent airflow and filtration performance day after day.
